SEATTLE — I love pasta SO MUCH but I think I’ve tried to make it from scratch *maybe* once, got overwhelmed and quit. That’s why I was excited to check out an ‘Intro to Pasta Making’ cooking class at Haerfest in the Fremont neighborhood.
Haerfest is a new restaurant from General Harvest Restaurants. Chef and owner Brian Clevenger runs Vendemmia, Raccolto, East Anchor Seafood, Haymaker West Seattle, G.H Pasta Co and now of course this new venture in Fremont. Clevenger said they focus on the freshest ingredients and lots of local produce.
The restaurant group also offers awesome group cooking classes. The classes range from 6 to 20 people depending on the topic. Speaking of topics, they range from basic techniques of pasta (Hello Pasta 101 that I experienced) and pizza making to advanced recipes. There’s truly something for everyone. For a more personalized experience they also offer private classes tailored to your preferences. It’s perfect for special occasions or a unique outing with friends.
I loved watching Chef Brian in action and the food I got to taste test during this class was UNREAL. Truly chef’s kiss 10/10. I learned a lot about the pasta making experience and think I will tackle some homemade pasta here soon.
Thanks to my friend Joseph as well who experienced the class with me.
