Q: What is the best Dry Shampoo?
A: I’ve been on a years-long journey to find the best dry shampoo, and my criteria was: can’t be too heavy or chalky, can’t make my hair look dull, I actually want my hair to feel cleannot dirtier, I have to love the smell, and I need to be able to wear it for days (because I only wash my hair every 5-6 days). Finally found it! Shout out to the new DryBar at Nordstrom Bellevue’s Beauty Haven, because they introduced me. It’s the DryBar Detox Gentle in Noir Scent. I’m in love. When I do wash my hair I love to use this Perfect Clean 2-In-1 Scalp Scrub & Shampoo.
Q: What’s a cool tennis shoe that I can wear with my leggings/athleisure that’s cool enough to take on a family vacation where I’ll be doing lots of walking?
A: This is easy! The coolest sneaker right now is amazingly comfy and looks great: it’s the New Balance 327, a retro-style chunky runner. Do a Google search on New Balance 327, and you’ll see it’s available at lots of stores and comes in lots of different colors. They are gender neutral and they’re equally popular for men and women.
Q: I just got a pair of cropped wide leg jeans. I love them, but I’m totally stumped on what kind of shoes to wear with them. Nothing I have seems to look right—what do you recommend?
A: Cropped wide leg jeans are a great spring trend! I’ve been styling lots of these with clients, and I even got a pair myself. Some of my favorite combos have been: Tall boots, chunky Mary Janes and chunky loafers. In general a chunky shoe with a modest heel is a great choice.

Q: I’m thinking of adding a belt or two to my spring wardrobe, any recommendations?
A: Belts are a great way to add shape and interest to an outfit. My favorite right now are Zara’s leather rope belt ($35, comes in three colors). I scooped up several of these and they work really great with dresses and jumpsuits. And on jeans I love Madewell’s Chunky Metal Leather Belt ($58, comes in 5 colors). One more note about belts, especially belts with silver or gold hardware. Think of them like a piece of jewelry—Belts, Earrings, Necklace… I usually only do two out of three to avoid over-accessorizing a look.
Q: I’m getting married this summer, it’s a small garden ceremony on a tight budget. Any tips for finding a dress for about $500 or less? Is that even possible?
A: Yes! I love the Calvin Klein High Low satin gown ($299 at Macy’s). It’s modern, elegant and so beautiful. It’s a great option for a slightly more informal wedding dress or a fun reception/party look for a bride. At about $300, you still have budget for a great shoe!
