'Chef in the Hat' opens new restaurant in Seattle

One of our favorite chefs has opened a new restaurant in Seattle, with a theme that's very close to his heart. Loulay Restaurant & Bar is the latest labor of love for Chef ThierryRautureau, The Chef in the Hat. The restaurant is named for his home town of Saint-Hilaire-de-Loulay, located in western France. The menu includes dishes inspired by meals he loved during his childhood.

Chef Thierry joined Margaret to share one of his favorite recipes, hot chocolate with toasted brioche and salted butter, a childhood favorite his grandparents shared with him.

Loulay Restaurant & Bar is located at 600 Union Street in downtown Seattle. Phone: 206-402-4588. Connect with Loulay on Facebook.

Chef Thierry's other restaurant is Luc, a French-American cafe in Seattle's Madison Valley neighborhood named after his father, Luc Rautureau. Luc is located at 2800 E. Madison. Phone: 206-328-6645. Connect with Luc on Facebook.
