Two Seattle filmmakers have taken a sci-fi approach to the coming-of-age theme. Prospect features a teenaged girl on a risky journey to help her father on a mining mission when things go sideways in a big way. The movie stars Sophie Thatcher (The Exorcist, Chicago Med), Jay Duplass (Transparent, The Mindy Project), and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos).
Prospect starts when a girl (Thatcher) and her father (Duplass) go to a remote alien moon, looking to get rich. It takes another direction and before they know it, they have to fight to survive. Shot in Washington State, this film transforms the forest around you. The film's co-writers/directors, Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell, discussed the inspiration for Prospect and their low-fi approach to filming on the Olympic Peninsula.
The film is being released by Gunpowder & Sky's DUST label.
