One of the most impressive basketball families calls Seattle 'home'. Seattle SuperSonics point guard Donald "Slick" Watts took the NBA by storm a brilliant career, leading the NBA in a number of records in the mid-1970s. His son, Donald, has blazed his own basketball trail in high school and college, leading the University of Washington to two consecutive NCAA tournaments, including a trip to the Sweet Sixteen. Slick and Donald shared the work they do with Watts Basketball, helping train basketball players of all ages and talent levels. They also talked about their support for the Seattle Arena project, and promoted a fan event taking place Tuesday afternoon, leading up to the Seattle City Council meeting and public hearing on the Seattle Arena issue.
The Sonics Arena Tip-Off event gets underway at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 15, in the Bertha Knight Landes Room at Seattle City Hall. The event will be emceed by Kevin Calabro, the longtime "Voice of the Sonics." CLICK HERE for more information.
