TV star Katee Sackhoff advocates for animals at this weekend's Tulip Ride

The annual motorcycle ride to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival benefits Seattle Humane

SEATTLE — From a lieutenant on Battlestar Galactica, to a deputy on Longmire, to supervillain Amunet Black on The Flash, actress and Portland native Katie Sackhoff has played a string of strong characters - both good and bad. This weekend she returns to the Pacific Northwest to tear up the road on the Tulip Ride, a motorcycle ride from Redmond to tulip country in Skagit Valley, taking place on Saturday, April 27.

The trip begins at Blazing Bagels in Redmond, where riders can fuel up with specials on coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The route concludes at Roozengaarde Tulip Farm, for a BBQ lunch and free admission through the tulip gardens for all registered Tulip Riders. As a life-long animal lover and advocate, Sackhoff has been actively promoting the ride and this year she's gathered friends including actors Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer), Rekha Sharma (Star Trek: Discovery), and Johnathan Fernandez (Lethal Weapon) to join her on the scenic road trip.

Katee talks about the 30-second acting master class she got from Battlestar Galactica co-star Edward James Olmos, all things Longmire, and teases her new Netflix series coming out this summer called Another Life (which puts her back in space!)  She also introduces us to 2 month old chihuahua mix Frankie, available (but not for long) at Seattle Humane.

If you'd like to support the ride, you can still register to join or donate directly to Seattle Humane!
