SEATTLE — Eating disorders affect an estimated 30 million people in the U.S. alone, and not just women. People of all ages, genders and socioeconomic statuses can struggle with an eating disorder. The Emily Program in Seattle has been working to help those with eating disorders since 1993. They help people recognize the signs of a disorder and start on their road to recovery. Kelsey Thomas, an eating disorder expert at The Emily Program, joins New Day Northwest to talk about the signs of an eating disorder, how anyone can access treatment and some of the biggest misconceptions people have about them.
