One of the biggest Star Wars collections in the world is right here in Washington

Two local Star Wars collectors have one of the most impressive collections out there, with more than 30,000 individual pieces.

Don’t let the calendar fool you! May 4 is an intergalactic holiday to many.

"Star Wars Day" is celebrated every May 4 and let us be among the first to say, “May the Fourth be with you!”

One of the most spectacular Star Wars collections just so happens to be near Seattle.

Owners Vic and Lisa are keeping the collection mostly private, but do confirm they built their entire home around the “Death Star Theater,” literally. The room was actually designed by the lead designer from Star Wars Episodes 1 and 2. A fabrication team from Dillon Works in Mukilteo assembled the unique theater and features the character Han Solo frozen in carbonite alongside spaceship-like push-button sliding doors.

The magnificent home theater sits next to the arcade where most of the Star Wars arcade games ever made are “fully operational.” The “X Wing” is a towering two-story gallery that featured the more high-end pieces of their collection. The room features screen-used props and toy prototypes like a never released rocket shooting Boba Fett that recently commanded $200,000 in an auction.

Vic and Lisa’s collection includes many exclusive items that only exist in their home. It’s a growing collection that inspired the ultimate pandemic project. The couple built a 10,000-square-foot building warehouse that will be home to a substantial portion of the collection and is already home to a life-size replica of the famous cantina from Star Wars.

The replica was built for a commercial and Vic and Lisa say the measurements just so happened to fit perfectly in their new warehouse. Once again Dillon Works from Mukilteo assembled the cantina and gave it authentic touches like blaster marks and worn plaster.

The massive new warehouse will take years to completely archive.

The couple say they’re preparing to take some of their prized collection on the road for upcoming conventions. They admit the collection is so vast they have purchased items that they aren’t even aware they have yet.

“That will all be a part of the extended directors cut!” laughed Vic.
