SEATAC, Wash. — Fans of the fast casual chain Chili's have been clamoring for a new location in western Washington, and it now appears those hopes will soon be fulfilled.
The Port of Seattle announced 11 new restaurants and retail locations for its new C Concourse expansion space at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), and Chili's is listed among them.
The Concourse C expansion will add four new floors to the existing C concourse as part of the multi-billion dollar Upgrade SEA project.
There is only one Chili's location currently open in the state of Washington, and it is all the way across the state from Seattle in Spokane.
A fan of the restaurant chain wrote up a Change.org petition in October 2023 urging Chili's to open a new location in Seattle. The petition has 75 signatures as of September 2024.
The company even made light of the many fans hoping it expands into Seattle, posting a TikTok on its official account with an image of a Chili's restaurant on top of the Space Needle.
Joining the Chili's will be other notable national chains like Port of Subs and Buffalo Wild Wings, along with local burger restaurant Great State Burger.
No timeline was given in the press release as to when the restaurants in the project will be open for business.
