SEATTLE — A fast-casual chain restaurant known for burgers and custard has announced it will expand into Washington state and the Seattle area.
Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers has signed a deal to open 10 locations in the "Seattle market." The company will work with franchisees Imrit Chattrath and Jasdeep Singh of Puget Sound Bites, Inc., according to a release.
"Our new journey with Freddy's has been driven by a deep belief in the brand's values and premium quality menu items," Chattrath said in a release. "Their commitment to excellence solidified our decision to invest with them. We're eager to deliver that exceptional Freddy's dining experience to all the guests in our new markets."
The chain has over 500 locations in 36 states across the United States and was originally founded in Kansas in 2002. Freddy's is known for steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, shoestring fries and freshly churned frozen custard treats.
No immediate information was available on where the locations will be exactly in western Washington, but KING 5 has reached out to the company and franchisees for further information.
In addition to the Seattle-area expansion, the company announced it is opening new restaurants in Illinois, Iowa, New Jersey and Texas.
Freddy's will join several other high-profile fast-food chains that have announced new locations in western Washington in recent months. Raising Cane's is set to open a handful of restaurants in the Seattle area in the next few years, and Voodoo doughnuts will open a location in Seattle's Capitol Hill. In-N-Out also plans to open at least one location in the Vancouver area near the Oregon border.
