SEATTLE — One of the world's most popular fast-food chicken chains will be opening its first Seattle location next week.
Jollibee will open to the public on Friday, June 7. The location, known for its Chickenjoy fried chicken and Peach Mango Pie, is at 3820 Rainier Avenue South.
It will be Jollibee's 101st store in North America and its third in the western Washington area. Other Jollibee locations can be found in Tukwila and Tacoma.
Jollibee, originally founded in the Philippines, has over 1,500 locations around the world.
“Jolly Day, Seattle! We are so thrilled to bring our joyful dining experience to both our fans and those who will be enjoying Jollibee for the very first time,” said Maribeth Dela Cruz, president of Jollibee North America, in a press release. “Rainer Valley reflects such a beautiful mosaic of cultures where everyone feels welcome – we cannot wait to be part of such a diverse yet close-knit community that has also become a culinary destination in its own right.”
Food website Eater named Jollibee's Chickenjoy the "best chain fried chicken in America" back in 2022. Other popular items, according to the company's website, are "deliciously savory hamburgers, sweet-style Jolly Spaghetti, and scrumptious Peach Mango Pie made with real Philippine mangoes."
The Seattle location will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will offer dine-in, drive-thru and take-out options. Jollibee says online ordering will also be available "in the coming weeks."
Jollibee joins several other large fast-food chicken chains that are expanding operations in western Washington.
Raising Cane's filed plans for its first Washington state location earlier this year and then added another in Renton.
Chick-fil-A also has filed plans for a second Bellevue location on 148th Avenue NE, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.
