SEATTLE — Molly Moon's announced on Monday they will be opening a new location on the Seattle waterfront.

The new storefront will be located on the Washington Street Boat Landing. The location is close on Pier 50, close to Colman Dock.

Molly Moon's first opened in Wallingford in 2008 by founder Molly Moon Neitzel. Other locations now include Capitol Hill, Madrona, Queen Anne, U Village, Redmond, Columbia City, and Bellevue. The latest location opened was in Edmonds.

The chain is known for its social justice approach to business, partnering with local farmers and giving at least 10% of profits to food banks and other charitable organizations yearly, according to their website.

Molly Moon's will join the development of the Seattle waterfront, which is currently under construction. One of the latest updates is the 230-foot-crane used to build the Overlook Walk near the MarketFront has been taken down, marking the progress being made on that section.

In addition, the waterfront pedestrian and bike plan improvements south of Yesler Way are now open. Public artwork, a protected bike plan and sidewalks were installed.

Construction has also started on Pike Street, as westbound vehicle access will be removed as soon as November between Bellevue Avenue and Terry Avenue/Hubbell Place to improve bike and pedestrian lanes.

As the waterfront continues to develop, the exact opening date of the new Molly Moon's location near the Washington Street Boat Landing is currently unknown.
