APPLE CIDER ELIXIR
(Serves 6)
This elixir is sure to help warm you up on a chilly autumn eve.
Ingredients
- 3 cups apple cider
- 1 cup tart cherry juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon rough chop fresh ginger
- 1 small orange cut into rounds (additional for garnishing)
- Zest of ½ small orange
- 4 cinnamon sticks
(additional for garnishing)
- 3-star anise (additional for garnishing)
- 1 cup Sauvignon Blanc
Method
Simmer all the ingredients, minus the wine, over low heat for 15 minutes. Pull from the heat, and stir in the wine. Strain out the solids when serving. Garnish the glasses with fresh orange slices, a cinnamon stick, and a star anise pod. Can be served warm or chilled.
