Italian media company ranks Redmond pizza spot among 50 best in US

SEATTLE — Some of the best pizza in the country can be found on the Eastside, according to a recent list compiled by an Italian media company.

50 Top Pizza put Redmond's Spark Pizza as its No. 33 pizza restaurant in the U.S. for 2024. Spark Pizza, located off 164th Avenue Northeast, actually fell two spots from its place at No. 31 on the outlet's 50 Top Pizza 2023 for the U.S.

Here's how the outlet described Spark Pizza:

"Loved by Americans like the 'Pepperoni' or sausage pizza, the wood-fired oven warms the atmosphere very convivial animated by Tony and Carolyn who love to give it a very familiar mood. The pizza is good, thin and well-cooked, topped with flavorful ingredients and balanced in proportion. The selection of cocktails, sodas, wines and beers to accompany appetizers, salads and fresh pasta dishes is very varied and contemporary. The modern and comfortable restaurant also runs smoothly thanks to fast and rhythmic service."

Spark Pizza was the only restaurant in Washington state to make the list, but Portland trailed only New York City (17) and Chicago (7) with six spots cracking the top 50 on the list. That includes Ken's Artisan Pizza, which was fifth in the nationwide rankings.
