SEATTLE — Toys are typically a "go-to" gift for most children during the holidays.
Every year, the number of educational toys promoting STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) skills is growing.
KING 5 Weekend Mornings checked in with The Toy Insider to find out what's on the list for top STEAM toys.
James Zahn, senior editor for The Toy Insider, shared several educational toys.
An option around $20 is the Snap FM Radio. Zahn said the STEM kit provides hands-on learning through building kids’ very own FM radio. Kids can build a simple circuit and understand its components. It's recommended for children eight and older.
For about $25 - Zahn recommended the Snap Circuits Sorting Snacks Mini Fridge to encourage sorting, counting, patterning, and critical thinking. Zahn said this is a great toy choice for children three and up. It can be found on Amazon, or at Target or Walmart.
Zahn recommended several more toys to enhance STEAM learning this holiday season and you can see more holiday gift guides by visiting The Toy Insider's website.
