The Olson Bros Band rocks every corner of the Northwest - 2023's Best

The Olson Bros Band was voted Best Local Band in 2023's Best of Western Washington viewers poll! #k5evening

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — It can be hard work having so much fun on stage, but for more than 10 years, The Olson Bros Band have been bringing their brand of country rock to every corner of the Northwest.

"We love just getting to share our music with a live audience," Luke Olson said.

"We like to bring the energy," added his brother Isaac Olson. "Have a really good time."

Raised in Summit Lake, outside Olympia, the brothers won a national songwriting contest in 2013 with a song called "Sunrise." And the awards keep piling up. We let them know over Zoom that the viewers of Western Washington chose the Olson Bros Band as the Best Local Band

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" they said. "That's really special."

The Olson Bros Band, which also includes bassist Milo Mullins and drummer Mat Smaciarz, have released half a dozen albums. They've opened for country music superstars and been featured on the local TV show "Band In Seattle."

We wondered who brings what to the band.

"I bring the looks," laughed Luke. "And the bad jokes. I bring a lot of bad jokes to the band."

"Luke does a lot of the melody in the songwriting," said Isaac. "And I do a lot of lyrical stuff when we write together. We switch off on that sometimes."

The Olson brothers may head off to Nashville now and again, but their hearts are here at home. Like their song says, these local boys will always "bleed evergreen."

The Olson Bros Band have gigs lined up from Sedro-Wooley to Hoquiam in December. You can find their tour schedule here.
