SEATTLE — Portland-founded Voodoo Doughnut announced an opening date for its first Seattle store Tuesday.
The company said the location at 1201 Pine Street in Capitol Hill will open Dec. 10 at 8 a.m., according to a post on social media. During the first day of business, 20% of sales from the day will go to FareStart, a nonprofit that provides opportunities to community members through food and job training and provides meals to Seattle-area schools.
Voodoo Doughnuts Marketing Director Taylor Fish said the first 50 people in line will receive "an exclusive gift."
“Capitol Hill is the perfect home for our first Seattle shop,” Chris Schultz, CEO of Voodoo Doughnut, said in a press release. “We’re not just opening a store; we’re joining a community—and our partnership with FareStart underscores our commitment to making a positive local impact.”
FareStart CEO Patrick D'Amelio wrote in a press release that the company is thrilled to partner with Voodoo Doughnut.
"This collaboration allows us to blend their innovative spirit with our transformational mission, making a sweet difference together right here in Seattle," he said.
Many of the fan favorites, like the bacon maple bar, will be available on opening day at the Seattle location. They also offer a large selection of vegan treats.
Voodoo Doughnut filed plans to build the Capitol Hill shop in October 2023.
Voodoo Doughnuts opened a location in Vancouver last year and has already expanded out of the Portland area to states such as Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, Florida, and California. They have 22 open locations in the U.S., with four more in the works.
