Seattle business expands to Redmond with summer cooking camps for families

A grand opening celebration for FrogLegs Culinary is set for June 17 and 18 at the new location at Redmond Town Center.

REDMOND, Wash. — Laura Vida started her "edible education" business in 2007 aiming to bring families together for the love of cooking and spending time together.

"I like creating a nurturing environment where children learn valuable culinary skills while embracing a healthier lifestyle," Vida said.

Vida's business, Froglegs Culinary, is now expanding to its third location at Redmond Town Center on 164th Avenue Northeast. It's the largest location so far - spanning 2,000 square feet. It opens on June 12, but a grand opening event will be held on June 17 and 18.

Vida said this location has two kitchens for classes and events, a retail marketplace with gifts, party supplies, and culinary essentials. It will also have a “grab-and-go” section featuring snack boxes, charcuterie trays, take-and bake meals.

FrogLegs is offering another round of summer camps that start June 12. There are several including, "The Great Outdoors: Let's Go Camping With George," "Little Italy," "CHOPPED Kids," and "The Adventures of Willy Wonka."

Vida's goal is to have kids and families learn how to cook or bake together at the FrogLegs kitchen, and continue to do so at home.

In addition to classes, people can sign up to have team building cooking sessions, birthdays, and other events.
