12 Flag at Seahawks-Panthers? Make sure it's small

The Panthers recently tweaked its flag policy for game days.
Seahawks fans taking their 12 Flag to the game should pull out a ruler first.

SEATTLE – Faithful 12s who are headed to Carolina this weekend to watch the Seahawks vs. Panthers need to know size matters.

The size of their 12 Flag.

The Carolina Panthers recently tweaked their flag policy. It can be no larger than 24-inches by 24-inches (2-feet by 2-feet) and only one person can hold it. You can also have only one flag or banner.

The policy change came after Panthers quarterback Cam Newton tore down a Green Bay Packers fan's sign before their game in Week 9. That banner was 8-feet by 3-feet.

"So if something's obviously larger than that 24-by-24 or obstructing someone from behind, our people will get involved," Scott Paul, Panthers director of stadium operations, told the Charlotte observer. "Otherwise, as long as it's a football-related message, we're going to allow it. That's really no change in policy. The only thing we changed was size."

Banners also cannot be attached to poles or sticks, cannot be attached to the stadium, and cannot obstruct any electronic signs or the ribbon boards around the upper decks.
