'American Ninja Warrior' takes over the Tacoma Dome

The show's first-ever stop in the PNW will also be their first indoor competition

TACOMA, Wash. — Usually, the Tacoma Dome is home to concerts and RV shows. But this weekend it will be taken over by world-class athletes and rabid fans.

For the first time ever NBC’s popular reality show, American Ninja Warrior has brought its notoriously challenging course to the Northwest to tape episodes for their upcoming season.

“We have always wanted to come and hold the competition up here in the northwest and because the weather is so unpredictable we've been a little bit reluctant,” said American Ninja Warrior Executive Producer Anthony Storm. “So instead we came inside the Tacoma Dome and for the first time ever to do an indoor event and we're really excited about it to see how it plays and to bring or show to Seattle and Tacoma.”

They’ll be taping shows on both Saturday and Sunday. Those interested in attending can signup to be on a waitlist to see if tickets become available.

The new season of American Ninja Warrior starts May 29. The episode at the Tacoma Dome airs June 24.
