Several freight train cars derailed in Burlington Sunday evening. It happened near the intersection of Greenleaf Ave. and S. Spruce St., a main intersection in town.
Seven train cars derailed and another five cars tipped over, according to Gus Melonas at BNSF. No one was hurt and there was no environmental impact.
The cleanup continued throughout Sunday evening. The derailment was not on a mainline, so Amtrak and other freight trains were not impacted.
The derailment happened just blocks from Train Wreck Bar & Grill.
