10-year-old girl dies days after being struck by stray bullet at Skyway apartment complex

The girl was being treated at Harborview Medical Center for two days before she died.

BRYN MAWR-SKYWAY, Wash — A 10-year-old girl who was hit by a stray bullet in Skyway died on Saturday.

The shooting happened on May 23 at the Creston Point Apartments on Martin Luther King Jr. Way and 68th Avenue just after 2 a.m. According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, the child died two days later at Harborview Medical Center.

According to KCME, the child was shot in the head and her death was ruled a homicide.

No suspects have been arrested. 

The King County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for information about the incident. Anyone who has details about the shooting or shooter is urged to call (206) 263-2090 or send an email to mcutips@kingcounty.gov.

This was the third shooting at the Creston Point Apartments in less than a year. Last June, a teenager was fatally shot in the parking lot. Another person was shot in the leg in April.
