Investigators learned there was a "disturbance" between the suspect, his girlfriend and her family. Police said the suspect pulled out a handgun from his car and fired at the family members during the argument. The 13-year-old, who was struck once in each leg, was the only person injured in the shooting, police said.

Authorities said to call SPD's Violent Crime tip line at 206-233-5000 if you have any information on the shooting.
