TACOMA, Wash. — Police said a 15-year-old was arrested for murder Monday, nearly six months after a homicide in Tacoma.
The Tacoma Police Department said officers were called at about 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 25 for reports of a shooting along the 4400 block of East Portland Avenue. Officers found a 16-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said the victim died from his injuries on Jan. 31, five days after the assault.
Investigators identified the suspect on Sept. 6 and a warrant for first-degree murder was issued for the suspect's arrest. Police took the 15-year-old male suspect into custody Monday.
The teen will be transferred to the Pierce County Juvenile Court. It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
