SEATTLE — Police are investigating after two people were injured in a shooting Saturday morning in Seatle's Yesler Terrace neighborhood.
According to the Seattle Police Department, officers first responded to reports of multiple shots fired around 5 a.m. Police responded to the area of 12th Avenue South and South Main Street.
Police determined two groups of people were shooting at each other with rifles and handguns. Multiple shell casings were found scattered around the scene and police said multiple vehicles and buildings were struck by gunfire.
Two people, a man and a woman in their 20s, were dropped off at the hospital with gunshot wounds during the initial investigation. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Police said the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unknown and did not share any information on possible suspects. Police are asking people to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing.
