RENTON, Wash. — Two people are injured after being shot at an encampment near the Cedar River Dog Park in Renton early Tuesday morning.
The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on Houser Way South, Renton police say. Detectives say a male suspect fired at a tent, striking two people. A 30-year-old man was struck in the upper torso and a 20-year-old was shot in the arm, police say.
Police say one of the victims has identified the suspect and detectives are actively searching for them.
In an update just before noon Tuesday, Renton police say they have taken a 31-year-old man into custody. No other suspect information was provided.
