SEATTLE — Two University of Washington football players were charged after allegedly attacking a bicyclist in Seattle.
It comes just weeks after one of those players, Tylin "Tybo" Tamis Rogers, was charged for allegedly raping two women.
According to court documents, both players, Rogers and Diesel Gordon, both face misdemeanor assault charges.
The attack happened on March 11 just after noon.
According to a Seattle Police Department report, the bicyclist told investigators he was riding in the University District when two people in a car behind him started yelling at him to get on the sidewalk.
The bicyclist told police he flipped them off and spat at the driver. The driver then tried to hit him.
The victim told police he tried to get away but they found him shortly after.
The players allegedly pushed the victim, smacked him, broke part of his bike and then spit on his face at least eight times.
The victim said the suspects continued harassing him until a pedestrian approached and tried to intervene.
The police report shows they were able to identify the teammates because the attack was caught on surveillance video and both men were wearing UW athletics-branded clothing.
According to the university, both players are currently suspended from the team.
Rogers, 18, is also facing second-degree and third-degree rape charges. He pleaded not guilty on Thursday in King County Superior Court and his next appearance will be May 21.
