The suspect was tased and hit with a pepper gun after the incident. He is now in custody.

POULSBO, Wash. — An independent contractor driving an Amazon delivery van was taken into custody after an altercation and low-speed pursuit Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, the incident started at a residence in Poulsbo near Northeast Madison Road

The 911 callers reported the Amazon driver allegedly threw packages from the van onto their driveway, called the residents names and threatened to harm animals that were on the property. The callers also reported the driver pulled a firearm, but officials have not confirmed if they found any weapons.

When deputies arrived at the scene, the suspect attempted to drive away on Madison Road toward Northeast Walker Road.

Deputies then placed spike strips, which successfully damaged the tires. However, the suspect was able to continue driving until he reached a nearby intersection. There, the suspect allegedly tried to fight deputies. Deputies then tased and shot him with a pepper gun.

He is now in custody and officials are investigating the incident.

Amazon said they will work with police as they investigate.
