MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — Two people were arrested Thursday in connection to the homicide of a 74-year-old Mercer Island man.
Curtis Engeland was first reported missing on Feb. 24 and was recently found dead in Cosmopolis, a town over 100 miles from his home.
According to the Mercer Island Police Department, both suspects were taken into custody in southern California. Officials say they allegedly defrauded and killed Engeland.
His cause of death was determined to be "sharp force injury of neck" and was ruled a homicide.
Engeland was originally reported missing by his roommate, who said he was missing and acting outside of his normal routine.
The investigation is still ongoing.
