RENTON, Wash. — Authorities are investigating after a domestic violence suspect was shot by a Renton police officer Sunday morning, according to the Renton Police Department.
At around 5 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving hostages in the 9400 block of South 196th Place, police said.
One of the officers reportedly confronted the suspect and fired his weapon, striking the suspect and his vehicle.
Renton police said the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. Officers located and stopped the suspect in the 4300 block of East Valley Road.
The suspect was taken to the hospital. Renton police said his condition is unknown at this time.
The officer involved in the shooting was not injured.
