Pierce County homicide suspect shot, killed after being barricaded in east Bremerton

The suspect was killed after reportedly firing sporadically at police, officials say.

BREMERTON, Wash. — A Pierce County homicide suspect was shot and killed by law enforcement in east Bremerton after a standoff with deputies and SWAT officers for hours Friday morning, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said.

A woman was also transported to the hospital after being shot, although KCSO did not specify if the woman was connected to the suspect.

Officials from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department (PCSD), the FBI and Kitsap County deputies first attempted to arrest the suspect in the 3000 block of Forest Drive at around 3 a.m. Friday. No law enforcement officers were injured, the Kitsap County PIO said.

The 49-year-old suspect was barricaded inside that home and armed. PCSD spokesperson Darren Moss Jr. said earlier in the morning there were at least 10 shots fired at the officers on the scene.

Moss said once the situation is resolved, PCSD will release more information about the suspect and the incident.
