SEATTLE-- Police in Washington say the female suspect in a killing spree that spanned from Everett to California has admitted to one of the murders.
Investigators said Monday that Holly Grigsby told them she fatally stabbed Leslie Pedersen, 69, the Everett woman found dead on September 28. She is the stepmother of Grigsby's boyfriend, David Joseph Pedersen.
The couple, now suspected of killing four people, were arrested in Northern California last week.
Oregon State Police Gregg Hastings said Monday that police in Eureka, Calif., found the fourth victim, a man's body in a car on Friday. He was identified as 53-year-old Reginald Alan Clark of Eureka. Investigators said he was shot in the head.
The third victim was found last weekend in Linn County, Ore. and has been identified as Pedersen's father, David Red Jones Pedersen, 56, of Everett. The cause of death was also a gunshot to the head.
David Joseph Pedersen and Grigsby are suspects in those three deaths, plus an Oregon teen whose car the couple was driving when they were arrested in California.
Meanwhile, David Joseph Pedersen told a California newspaper that he killed his father because he had allegedly molested his sister.
The Appeal Democrat of Marysville, Calif., published a story Monday based on a jailhouse interview with Pedersen, who told the newspaper that he takes full responsibility for the murders. Investigators have not said whether the claim is substatiated.
Both Pedersen and Grigsby are being held in the Yuba County jail on $1 million bail each pending expected extradition requests from Oregon and Washington.
