Crime Stoppers offering reward in murder of Shoreline woman, found dead near her home

The King County Medical Examiner ruled the death of BillyJo Kaufman Perkins a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

SHORELINE, Wash. — Crime Stoppers has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who shot and killed a 50-year-old woman in Shoreline.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death of BillyJo Kaufman Perkins a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies with the King County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of 22nd Avenue and NE 201st Place for a report of a person down at Ballinger Homes, a low-income housing complex, around 10 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

According to a preliminary report, deputies attempted lifesaving measures before Perkins was pronounced dead.

"Somebody knows who did this," said Jim Fuda, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. "A 50-year-old female out at night, I'm assuming unarmed, is a gun downed victim. It's not right."

Anyone with information can leave tips anonymously by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or online at the Crime Stoppers website.

"Even if you think it's nothing, it could be of use to detectives," Fuda said. "Check your cameras, your ring cameras."

A uniformed security officer on the property told KING 5 they've been asked to increase patrols on the property.
