SEATTLE — The suspect arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man outside a north Seattle 7-Eleven last month was arraigned Wednesday morning.
36-year-old Ryan Michael Danford is facing charges of second-degree murder and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Danford pleaded not guilty in his arrangement hearing Wednesday. He is being held on a $2 million bail.
Seattle police responded to a shooting behind a 7-Eleven near Magnuson Park on Aug. 13. Officers found a victim, Matthew Robert Budney, 41, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He died at the scene.
Investigators were able to corroborate witness testimony and surveillance video to identify the suspect's vehicle and later Danford as the primary suspect in the shooting. Danford was arrested on Aug. 17.
Danford's next court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 2.
