Deputies say they found parts of an assault rifle in the girl's vehicle.

BOTHELL, Wash. — A 16-year-old student is in custody after an apparent road rage incident where a firearm was produced, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office (SCSO).

In a social media post, the department said deputies responded just before 7:30 a.m. to a reported road rage incident with a firearm on North Road.

Deputies were told a teen girl had pulled a gun out while driving on North Road, then turned into Lynnwood High School, per the release.

Parts of an assault rifle were found on the floorboard of the suspect's vehicle, SCSO said. The girl was detained and the vehicle and her backpack have been impounded as evidence, SCSO said.

Lynnwood High School was in a full lockdown while deputies investigated. As of 9:45 a.m., the lockdown was lifted and normal operations resumed at Lynnwood High.
