Suspect in custody after deadly shooting in Everett

Everett police responded to the shooting on Friday afternoon near Cascade High School, which was not in session.

EVERETT, Wash. — One man has died after a shooting in Everett on Friday afternoon, according to first responders in Everett. 

Everett police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1300 block of East Casino Road near Cascade High School around 1:25 p.m. An 18-year-old man, who had a gunshot wound, was stopped in the road, according to police. 

Everett Fire Department crews transported the man to the hospital and he was in critical condition. He later died from his injuries, according to police. The man was not a student at the high school and school was also not in session at the time of the shooting.

Everett police tweeted just after midnight that they arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting. He will be booked into the Snohomish County jail.

Police did provide any information about a possible motive or what led up to the shooting.
