RENTON, Wash. — Renton police say a man was seriously injured after being shot during an attempted robbery early Friday morning.
Police say an 18-year-old man was sitting in his car to meet someone he knew. Just after 2 a.m., a group of suspects opened the man's passenger-side door and demanded "all his stuff," police say.
The man tried to run but was shot multiple times by the suspects. Someone called 911 reporting hearing a gunshot and a man yelling for help.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the man in the street with a gunshot wound. Officers say they got limited info as the victim was losing consciousness and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for surgery.
Police say they are looking for 3-5 suspects, but it is unclear whether there was any prior connection between the victim and the suspects or if they were strangers.
