Police: Man threatens to 'shoot everyone' inside Seattle movie theater during violent assault

The suspect threatened "I'll shoot everyone" during the altercation inside the movie theater, police say.

SEATTLE — A man is in custody after pulling out a gun and assaulting two people inside a Seattle movie theater on Friday night.

Just before 9:45 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the Regal Thornton Place on 103rd Street in Seattle, the Seattle Police Department confirmed to KING 5.

Police say witnesses reported a man watching a movie inside the theater "felt wronged" by someone who walked past his row of seats. When the same person walked by again, police say the suspect yelled he had a handgun, pulled it out, and beat one of the victims with it.

Police say patrons attempted to wrestle the gun from the suspect, which caused the magazine to eject before the theater cleared out "in a panic."

The suspect yelled "I've got a gun" and "I'll shoot everyone" inside the theater, police say.

Police say they contacted two victims; a 40-year-old man with "a lacerated ear ripped off" and a 42-year-old woman with a head laceration.

The suspect, a 30-year-old Seattle man, attempted to leave the scene on foot before being located by officers and arrested. He was booked into King County Jail on suspicion of assault, felony harassment and unlawful imprisonment.

KING 5 does not name criminal suspects until they are formally charged. Police say the investigation into this alleged assault continues.
