Troopers investigating at least 6 highway shootings in south King County

Washington State Patrol says the suspect in two of the shootings was identified as a man in his 30s to 40s driving a light blue Nissan 350Z.

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating at least six highway shootings that took place in south King County Wednesday night.

WSP reported a shooting on southbound Interstate 5 near South 320th Street in Federal Way.

One victim was injured and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Shortly after, another shooting was reported on northbound I-5 in SeaTac.

The state patrol is searching for a man in his 30s or 40s driving a light blue Nissan 350Z with a spoiler. The suspect was last seen when he exited on Interurban Avenue in Tukwila.

A shooting also took place on southbound state Route 167 near Ellingson. Trooper Rick Johnson tweeted about the incident at 11 p.m. Wednesday night. There was no suspect description, so it's unknown if it is connected to the I-5 shootings.

Trooper Johnson shared another social post on Thursday morning that yet another shooting was under investigation from Wednesday night. At 11:39 p.m., Johnson said a driver of a gray pick-up truck shot at a vehicle on southbound I-5 near 320th Street. Johnson said this shooting also was not connected to any of the others Wednesday night.

On Thursday, state patrol received calls from two additional victims who were shot on Wednesday night. One shooting was reported to have occurred around 9 p.m. on southbound I-5 in the Southcenter area. The other reportedly occurred around 9:15 p.m. on southbound I-5 near state Route 518. There is no information that ties the two shootings to the others.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately.
