2 teens, 4 adults injured in shooting at South Hill house party

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said they believe there may have been multiple shooters involved. No suspects are in custody at this time.

SOUTH HILL, Wash. — Pierce County authorities are investigating after six people were reportedly shot during a party being hosted at a rented house in South Hill overnight.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) said deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 11500 block of 152nd St E. at around 1:39 a.m. Sunday. Deputies reportedly found one victim with a gunshot wound at the residence.

PCSD said it began receiving calls about other shooting victims showing up at several area hospitals. In total, six people were shot at the party.

One victim, 17, suffered life-threatening injuries. Four other victims were in their 20s, all men, and a 19-year-old woman received non-life-threatening injuries.

PCSD said they believe there may have been multiple shooters involved. No suspects are in custody at this time.

People who live in the neighborhood said they didn't hear gunshots, but could tell there was a party happening.

"There were just cars parked all the way up [the street] and on my cameras I can see they go all the way down, and there were some kids making noises," said Cheyenne Newingham, who lives a few houses down the road from where the party happened.

Newingham said it is generally a very quiet neighborhood and this sort of crime was surprising to hear about. She hopes justice is served.

"I would hope they get arrested because I mean, you know, that they did a horrible thing and you don't get away with horrible things like that," said Newingham.

Some neighbors who didn't go on camera told KING 5 that they have seen other parties at this rental house recently. On Airbnb and VRBO the house was marketed as an "ideal place for events" and said it offers "15-car parking."

Anyone with information on the suspects or what led up to the shooting is asked to contact the PCSD or CrimeStoppers.
