MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Authorities are investigating after three suspects and a homeowner exchanged gunfire overnight in Marysville.
According to the Marysville Police Department, officers responded to 911 reports of gunfire in the 8400 block of 41st Drive NE.
Police said three armed suspects arrived at the location in a stolen vehicle and confronted a homeowner who had just arrived home. Gunfire was exchanged between the two parties leading to the suspects fleeing the area on foot.
Police said multiple nearby homes and vehicles were struck by gunfire. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Marysville police first posted about the incident on social media at 1:17 a.m., asking residents in the area to remain indoors as officers searched for the suspects.
Authorities from multiple agencies were called to the scene and a large-scale search of the area with the aid of K-9 units and drones took place for several hours.
Police said one suspect was arrested, but the two other suspects are still outstanding. That suspect had a gunshot wound. He was treated by the Marysville Fire District.
The remaining suspects attempted to break into several homes and steal several vehicles after they fled the shooting scene. They succeeded in stealing a pickup truck which was recovered the next morning several blocks away from where the original incident took place.
Police are not sure whether the incident was targeted or random.
