SEATTLE — In a post from the Seattle Police Department, officers detailed how armed robbers victimized a couple in the Olympic Hills neighborhood.
SPD was called to a home in the 14000 block of 25th Ave. NE around 3 a.m. on Jan. 28 and found the couple "shaken up."
According to police, the husband said the family dog woke him up. He then heard his wife scream from upstairs. He told police two men confronted him; one pointed a gun at him and the third man pointed a gun at his wife. They demanded the couple's valuables.
The couple was forced to watch as two of the three men ransacked their home, looking for anything to steal. Once they were finished, they told the couple not to move before they left.
The descriptions are fairly generic because the men were wearing face masks. Three men are believed to be between 18 and 25 years old and approximately 5’10” to 6’1." The robbers were described as tall and thin and wore black facemasks, black sweatshirts, black pants, gloves, and black shoes.
"I think it's an anomaly," neighbor Susan Connors told KING 5. She said it's a reality check for her and a reminder that anything can happen anywhere.
"Think about security, think about some personal security. Maybe an alarm system, it tends to deter thieves anyway," Connors said.
KING 5 reached out to the Seattle Police Department to ask if they believe the couple was targeted or if it was random. Citing the active investigation, a spokesperson said they couldn't release any other details.
