Police investigating fatal shooting inside SODO nightclub

Police said the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after one person was shot and killed inside a SODO nightclub early Saturday morning.

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said officers first responded to reports of a shooting just after 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South.

Arriving officers reportedly found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.

Police said the victim was shot inside a nightclub in the area by an unknown suspect who fled the scene. They said there was a delay between the time of the shooting and when it was reported to 911. Patrons of the nightclub had left before officers arrived on the scene.

Police said no arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing.
