RENTON, Wash. — The Renton Police Department is asking for help from the public to identify suspects in a recent homicide case.

According to the police department, two men in their 30s are wanted in connection to the shooting death of a 19-year-old in a restaurant parking lot on May 18.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. in the parking lot of Muchacho Alegre, located in the 100 block of Airport Way.

According to police and witnesses, multiple men followed the victim, Elmer Salazar Rojas, and his brother out of the restaurant and started assaulting them.

After the assault, the victim was seen on security camera footage ramming the suspect's car with his, according to RPD. Then, one of the suspects started shooting into the victim's car.

"And they started hitting me, and I didn't see anything anymore. And then last I heard was that they had murdered my, my brother," Kevin Rojas told KING 5 the day after the shooting.

Arriving officers reportedly found Elmer Salazar Rojas in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died at the scene.

Police say the suspects were driving a silver 2010 Toyota Sequoia that now has "significant" front-end damage.

Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to contact RPD Det. Chris Edwards at cedwards@rentonwa.gov.

Elmer Salazar Rojas' parents live in Oaxaca, Mexico, and his Seattle family members are now faced with the expense of shipping his remains back to Mexico. A verified GoFundMe has been created in their name.
