SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a homicide after a man was killed and a woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting Monday night.
Officers responded just before midnight Monday after a woman reported she was shot inside her vehicle at Dr. Jose Rizal Park in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Upon arrival, a woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds, as well as a man who also was shot multiple times.
The woman, 19, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A third female passenger was not injured.
No information on any potential suspects was initially released by police. No arrests have been made at this time, Seattle police said.
Seattle Police said this is the 40th homicide in Seattle this year and the first homicide in the North Beacon Hill neighborhood in 2024.
A man was shot and injured at this same park in May of this year.
