SEATTLE — The King County Medical Examiner released the identity of the woman who died in the Saturday morning shooting in Capitol Hill.

Breanna Simmons, 25, was shot and killed early Saturday morning on 11th Avenue near Union Street.

Simmons' mother told KING 5 she has no idea who would want to kill her daughter.

"I love my daughter and she was an amazing person [who] didn't deserve what happened to her. Everyone who knows her says the same thing. I just want justice for my daughter," the victim's mother, who requested to stay anonymous until someone has been arrested, said.

Simmons was a Kentlake High School graduate and had a 4-year-old child, who is now staying with grandma.

"[Simmons] supported so many people. She cooked for teen moms, single women and loved taking walks with her daughter," the victim's mother said.
