Renton shootout in parking lot leaves 2 people injured

Police say an argument escalated before two men began shooting at each other in a parking lot of the Landing.

RENTON, Wash. — A shootout following an argument in a parking lot of The Landing in Renton left two men injured.

The Renton Police Department (RPD) said officers responded shortly after midnight to a reported shooting. A man was found with a minor foot injury from a gunshot wound, police said. The other shooter was not at the scene when officers arrived, RPD added.

Officers learned that an argument escalated to the point where both men pulled out guns and began exchanging fire. Police said the men ran through the parking lot near Wing Stop to Marshall's as they shot at each other.

The man found at the scene was arrested, and a few hours later, a second suspect arrived at Valley Medical Center with two gunshot wounds. Renton police did not confirm that the second person was also arrested but did say investigators would be taking over the case.
