SEATTLE -- A juvenile court judge has ordered electronic home detention for a 16-year-old boy accused of posting an anonymous threat last month to shoot up Skyline High School in the east Seattle suburb of Sammamish.
Judge Helen Halpert found probable cause Wednesday to hold the boy, who is also suspected of making a similar threat last spring regarding Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood.
The Seattle Times reports that the judge warned the boy that if he used his significant computer skills to tamper with his ankle bracelet she would order him held in secure detention. She also ordered that he have no unsupervised access to the Internet.
Defense lawyer Jeff Kradel told the judge there were no indications the teen had taken any steps to carry out an attack.
Police arrested the boy Tuesday at his home north of Seattle for investigation of cyber-stalking and harassment.
A King County prosecutor's spokesman said Thursday is the deadline for a charging decision.
