TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene Wednesday night.
According to the Tacoma Police Department, officers responded to the 1200 block of South Vassault St. around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian hit-and-run collision.
Responding officers reportedly found a man suffering from significant wounds at the scene and Tacoma Fire personnel attempted life-saving measures. The victim died from his injuries police said.
Witnesses were able to provide police with "critical information" about the vehicle that was involved, according to the Tacoma Police Department. Police said officers were able to locate the vehicle and driver.
The suspect was booking into Pierce County Jail in the investigation of vehicular homicide.
