TUKWILA, Wash. — On Tuesday night, Andrew Christenson was the victim of a seemingly random shooting while driving on the highway in Tukwila, according to Washington State Patrol.
His car now has seven bullet holes, a shattered window and two flat tires.
During an interview with KING 5, Christenson showed the bullet holes now in his car, recounting the events that occurred last night.
"This one richette and it broke the glass," Christenson is pointing to his rear window.
"It was like pop, pop, pop," Christenson said. "When I heard the first pop, I thought 'tire.'"
After the shooting, Christenson immediately pulled over to see what happened.
"I called 911 and told them my car had been shot up and I was on the side of the road," he said.
Troopers with the Washington State Patrol arrived to investigate. In complete disbelief, Christenson was not hit.
"I gave myself a once over and okay, I'm still me. And when they got there they were in disbelief that I wasn't hit. It was wild," he said.
However, Christenson didn't see where the bullets came from.
"It's hard to accept that it seems so random," he said.
While his car isout of commission for some time, he is grateful he was not hurt.
"It was a lot of emotions all at once. A lot of them focused on relief, being grateful and luck and definitely going to buy a lottery ticket," he said with a smile.
He doesn't plan on replacing his car because it has sentimental value.
"It was my stepdad's. He passed away so it came to me and I drove it out from Ohio," Christenson said. "The best car I've ever had."
